about
“Angels” has been inspired by a dream where humans are angels fallen from the sky without the wings to fly. They’ve fallen as they forgot who they really are. It’s an eye opening, empowering song. “Angels” refers to humans as dreamers waking up at last. It’s an escapist, protest song expressing an urge to be free and true to yourself.
The song is a blend of a few genres: Electro Pop, Art Pop, Singer Songwriter, Norwegian Pop, Folk and Soul Pop. Production has been inspired particularly by AURORA and Röyksopp.
There’s a dreamy first verse followed by a rhythmic pre-chorus leading up to an explosive atmospheric chorus. Topped off by a powerful guitar solo right at the end of the track.
On the day of the launch “Angels” reached no.43 in Pop iTunes Charts in Spain where Camila Knight is currently based.
"Angels" is her debut single released on July 17th from her upcoming EP.
lyrics
I've been dreaming
I've fallen down
Now I'm waking up
I've been remembering
What my nature is
Now I'm running free
'Cause we're angels
Coming not from here
We are only visiting
Fallen from the skies
With no wings to fly
Angels, Angels
We pick up pieces of ourselves
To mend our broken dreams
'Cause we are
Angels, Angels
Lost in a misty world
Craving for some love
Now we have a choice
Should I shut my mouth
And pretend to be blind
When the world's gone crazy now
And I'm suffocating by all this madness
We enslaved, to pay the debts
We corrupted, for the fame
When we were born to be free
So go ahead
Break off your chains
'Cause we're angels
Coming not from here
We are only visiting
Fallen from the skies
With no wings to fly
Angels, Angels
We pick up pieces of ourselves
To mend our broken dreams
'Cause we are
Angels, Angels
Lost in a misty world
Craving for some love
Now I'm running free
Now I'm running free
Now I'm running free
Now I'm running free
Now I'm running free
